So Anti is her best album for a reason so simple it's tautological-despite its supposed rejection of track-and-hook mechanics, it features catchier songs. The presentational Rihanna is so unlike anyone I know that she can say anything she wants about her musical punany as long as she leaves Chris Brown out of it-with this artist, sex is figurative, symbolic, the mark of a pleasure taker turned pleasure provider. I'm pretty sure this is a problem only because the cinematics are not working, not for advisors, not for wonders built, and now, not for losing the game.Anti (Deluxe Edition) The reason I like this record beginning to end has zip to do with whether it documents her sexual mood swings more proudly or soulfully. Except that today I realized that, while you can win the game fine and it will give you the ending statistics, no problem if you lose, that is, if your civilization is wiped out, the lose ending is a cinematic that will never run, so the game hangs. I miss the advisors short video clips, but otherwise the game works fine. It doesn't have all that background music that I loved, but has all the other audio and a nice stroll down memory lane of over a decade ago. Works for me on Windows 10 - made my day. Grew up playing this on my dads ancient windows 95 laptop and i loved it dearly the one game i played until 13 a light obsession occcured this version works on my win 8.1 64 bit completely without any action, these good people earned a donation for excelent work, they do what the rest of the net could not. Just need to know how to get music playing.įor Mac OS 64bit user (Catalina and later). Is there a way I can play music? I have the cd version of the game and can put the music into a folder. Hope you will update Civ II Test of Time with colonization of Alpha Centaurus.Īwesome, awesome, awesome game. Graphic is a bit crude but active piece "flash" much better than with the original. This updated version works like a charm on a Windows 11, DELL Latitude, computer. I kept a windows XP computer for years just to play Civ II Test of Time. I bought my cope of this game in 1996 and I think I haven't watched the opening movie in over 25 years! So, thanks again! The browser version didn't have the music and videos. I had previously been opening a browser-based version of the game to run but stopped working. Wow! I am impressed and VERY thankful that there are people like you with a coding background that can keep these games running! I opened on WIN10 with no issues. These tools also come to the Finder in Mojave. If it’s an image you are looking at, you can use editing tools such as crop, rotate and even trim video. So you can just Quick Look at a PDF and add a signature or fill in your address details, no need to open up Preview (or another PDF editor to do this). In Mojave you are able to use Markup tools while viewing a Quick Look preview. When it launched Mark Up was a tool for editing PDFs and email attachments. For many years now it’s been as simple as pressing the space bar when you have a file selected and you see a preview.Īs if that feature wasn’t already life-changing, in Mojave it is be coupled with another feature that arrived a few years ago: Mark Up. Remember when you used to have to actually open a file or photo in order to see what it was. Quick Look is one of those nifty little features that as soon as you start using you really can’t do without. Of course the side-effect of making the Desktop the go-to place is that for most of us, everything is stored on the Desktop. So if you have a Mac at home and one at work you can share the same Desktop and access everything you need. In Sierra the company added one of our favourite features of all time – the ability to sync the Desktop to iCloud and access it from any Mac or iOS device. One thing that Apple seems to have recognised is that for most of us ‘filing’ involves saving something to the Desktop. In past versions of MacOS Apple has refined Spotlight so that we could quickly locate a document we needed, allowed us to Tag documents so that they could automatically appear together with other related items, added Quick Look so we could see a preview of the file before opening it, and made it easy to create Smart Folders so that certain types of file could be located. Over the years Apple has come up with various ways to help us keep things in order on our Macs without actually needing a filing system. Once the excitement about Dark Mode has died down, we feel that there’s another new feature in Mojave that is much more revolutionary in terms of how you will use your Mac. For the rest of us, it’s probably just a novelty that we’ll end up switching off at the point when we feel it’s just a bit too dark for day-to-day use. No doubt it will be creatives who will get the most out of this new interface option, along with anyone who prefers to work at night. If you aren’t using Reader mode, be ready with the sunglasses. Of course, normal web pages won’t take on this look because their appearance would normally be dictated by the web design team, but in Reader mode everything is stripped down so that you can just see the text and associated images. We particularly like how the Reader view in Safari looks, with a grey background and white text. When you click the Dark option your windows, menus and other elements of the interface will change their appearance. Now, with Mojave, Mac users are able to darken every element of the interface via System Preferences > General > Dark. There was an option to turn on Night Shift in earlier versions of the Mac operating system, which would tone down the blue light in the evening, as well as an option to make the menu and dock dark, although that latter feature only applied to Apple apps. It’s the first time Apple has offered a true Dark Mode on the Mac. When Mojave arrived, probably the most excitement was be reserved for Dark Mode – the new look that mutes the colours of the menus and interface so that you can give all your attention to what you are working on by day, and so that you won’t strain your eyes by night. Had I know DHG page flipping was possible, I have to wonder if I would have tried it or at least done further testing.Īs it stands, our game engine currently is just fast enough to deliver an acceptable screen refresh rate after player moves, but with very little speed resources to spare. Of course DHR being unique to tile based RPGs would have also make it extra cool to do. If anyone is aware of any please let me know, I’d love to check them out. I also recall thinking it was a risky design decision considering there are no Apple II tile based RPGs using DHR that I’m aware of which proved it could be done. In the planning stage I recalled thinking that if page flipping was available in DHR maybe that would sufficiently smooth out any screen refresh lag cause by the extra memory copies, but without page flipping it seemed impractical. As far as I could tell, DHR meant that twice as many memory addresses would need to be filled to render the screen. To elaborate on my DHR comment from the earlier post, the central concern was speed. I seriously considered DHR for Nox Archaist. I plan on doing some animation off the tile grid in the combat system and expect to have to think through some collision control mechanics, in single HR though. Kudos to you for giving it a shot with your break out game! I can image collision detection in DHR would have been a big head ache. I thought it was mentioned in the book “High-Rest Graphics and Animation Using Assembly Language” by Leonard Malkin but I must have imagined it a review confirms the book is silent on the subject. Thanks for the information! I retraced my steps and I do not know how I acquired the perception that there was no double hi-res page 2. Please join the group and share your progress there, thank you!! Reply Delete I am very excited to hear about this game, where I heard about it on the Apple II Enthusiasts group on FB. Any game that attempted this for its dungeons, even if it was simply lines instead of filled regions, would be great: One game that made me think otherwise was Eidolon, with its fractal-like corridor "ribs", which I thought was exceptional. I felt like I was walking around hallways rather than underground passages. The other observable truth of dungeons in the 8-bit world is that they always had hard, square-ish edges, which never seemed very dungeonesque to me. Unlike the other commenters, I don't think it has to have a 1st person perspective in the dungeons, but if you *did* decide to go that route, what I would *love* to see is the approach that the game Dungeons of Daggorath used on the TRS platform: they used a custom line drawing algorithm to make the lines appear more faint, giving the illusion of *depth* to their dungeons and its inhabitants, which I've never seen elsewhere. I thought it was great that you could abandon your ship and swim(!) to the shore, and that the progress was slower and, again, your head bobbed to the surface! Excellent, excellent, excellent! This is awesome! The attention to detail is fantastic, and I was delighted when I saw the heads poking about the tall grass, not just the hero, but the pursuer. |
